Welcome to Slow Down Candles – a passion project turned into a small business. Hi, I'm Ty, Owner of Slow Down Candles and now a Chandler (which after a google search it comes from the Old French word chandelier, which means "candlestick maker).

My candle business began one brisk morning as I saw with my dog Roscoe in a canvas wall tent along a river in Northwestern Montana. Inside, a wood fire was crackling, melting beeswax for my first batch of candles. As I poured those first pillars, I thought heating beeswax in bear country wasn't my best idea. Thankfully, no bears showed up and a candle business was born.

I grew up in a small town in Montana (from the name of my dog I bet you can guess the town) where thing were simple and community driven. That's the same energy we put into Slow Down. Our candles are crafted with 100% beeswax from family-run apiaries around Montana, all hand-poured in our home studio in Bozeman, Montana. Our beeswax is raw, unfiltered, and unpasteurized - wild as it comes!

We haven't changed our recipe from that first batch: pure beeswax and a 100% cotton wick.

No extras, no fillers - just pure, natural Montana beeswax.
